Using CaseScan
Why wasn’t a certain file scanned?
During scanning, in preview mode, and after CaseScan finished scanning, you can find a list of files which could not be scanned. Along with the list of errors, you can see the file name, its path, and the reason why it wasn’t scanned.
Should I leave my PC on and running during a CaseScan scanning operation?
Yes. Your PC must be ON the entire time. If you are using a laptop, it must remain plugged into an outlet due to the GPU settings of the manufacturer. It is recommended to shut off “Sleep Mode” while scanning.
Can I stop the scanning once it has begun?
Yes. You can click the Stop Scan button to stop the scanning process. Please note that scanning cannot be resumed from where you left off. If you want to restart the scan after stopping it, you will need to run the the scanning process from the ...
During scanning, a notification informed me that there is not enough space in Windows / WSL to proceed. After freeing up space, will I need to start from scratch by creating a new case?
Yes. A case will be created containing the files which were scanned up until the notification appeared; however, you will need to create a new case if you want CaseScan to scan all files
While starting a new case / while scanning files, CaseScan informed me that Windows does not have enough free space to proceed. What should I do?
Free space must be made in Windows by deleting files or through other means.

Which types of drives can be scanned with CaseScan?
Any type of drive that Windows identifies as a hard drive and that has a name defined with a letter (i.e. E:\ , F:\ , G:\ , etc.).
Can CaseScan run in multiple sessions?
No - once CaseScan is running, it cannot run in a new session. If you attempt to start one, either through CaseScan.exe or through the CaseScan taskbar icon, a pop-up window will inform you that a session of CaseScan is already running.
I forgot to log out of CaseScan. Will it log out by itself after realizing I am inactive?
Yes. It will log out after 30 minutes of inactivity.
