This guide explains how to create a new case using the Mobile option in CaseScan Software. Follow these steps for a successful setup.
Step 1: Access the "Create New Case" Feature
- Launch the CaseScan Investigations Software.
- Navigate to the main panel.
- Click on the prominent "Create New Case" button to begin.
Case Name:
- Enter a unique identifier for the case.
- Acceptable characters include letters, numbers, and special characters.
- Ensure the name does not begin with a special character or space.
Evidence Name:
- Provide a clear and concise name for the evidence related to this case.
- Ensure the name does not begin with a special character or space.
Step 3: Select the Suspect’s Operating System (BETA)
Use the dropdown menu to choose between:
- This step helps configure the software for optimal analysis based on the suspect’s mobile device.

- Triaging Android devices is limited to public libraries
- Click on the backup location field to select where forensic data will be saved.
Recommendation:
- Save backups to a local folder on your computer instead of an external USB or network drive to reduce scan times.
Step 5: Enable Optional Features
Face Recognition:
- Toggle this option to enable facial detection during the scan.
Enhanced Accuracy Mode:
- Activates additional AI models for improved CSAM detection precision.
This option may cause a decrease in scan speed but helps reduce false positives in "Underwear" and "Nude" filters.
