CaseScan Installation Manual

1. Preparation

• Access Credentials: Ensure you have the username and password provided in the "CaseScan Registration Email."

• System Requirements: Verify that your system meets the necessary requirements for CaseScan installation.

2. Download Installation Files

• Log In: Navigate to the CaseScan Registration Website at https://activate.casescan.com/ and log in using your credentials.
  

• Download: Locate and download the CaseScan installation ZIP file (approximately 6 GB in size).
  
  

3. Extract Installation Files

• Extract: After downloading, extract the contents of the ZIP file. 

• Important
  : Ensure all files are extracted to the same directory; otherwise, the installation will not proceed
  
  
  

4. Initiate Installation

• Run Installer: Double-click on CaseScan_Windows-[version number].exe to start the installation process.

• Follow Wizard: The CaseScan Installation Wizard will guide you through the process. Click "Next" to proceed through each step.

5. System Requirements Check

• Automatic Check: The installer will automatically verify if your system meets all necessary requirements.

• Indicators:

  • A green checkmark (✔) indicates a requirement is met.

  • A red "X" indicates a requirement is not met.

• Note: If any requirements are not met, the "Next" button will be inactive. Address any issues before proceeding.
  
  

6. Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) Installation

• WSL Not Installed: If WSL is not detected:

  • Click on "Start WSL Setup Wizard" when prompted.

  • Follow the prompts to install WSL.

  • You will be prompted to restart your computer twice during this process.

• WSL Installed: If WSL is already installed and all other requirements are met, click "Next" to continue.

7. Obtain Hardware ID

• The installer will display your system's Hardware ID.

• Note: Write down this Hardware ID, as it is required for license activation.
  
  
  

8. Generate Activation Code

• Return to Registration Website: Go back to https://activate.casescan.com/ and log in if necessary.

• Generate Code:

  • Navigate to the "Generate Activation Code" tab.

  • Enter your Hardware ID.

  • Select your license type.

  • Click "GENERATE" to receive your License Activation Code.

• Note: Record this Activation Code for the next step.

9. Complete Installation

• Enter Activation Code: Return to the installer and input the Activation Code when prompted.

• Finalize:

  • Click "Next" to proceed.

  • Wait for the installation to reach 100% completion.

  • Once you see the "Installation completed!" message, click "Restart" to reboot your system.

10. Launch CaseScan

• Desktop Shortcut: After rebooting, locate the CaseScan icon on your desktop.

• First-Time Login:

  • Open CaseScan by double-clicking the icon.

  • Use the Admin username and password provided in your registration email to log in.
